Rep. Wilhour Encourages Job Seekers on New Opportunities: Greater Centralia Area Career Expo Set for August 20 – 21

“Many lives have been disrupted and people lost their jobs over this past year because of the Covid-19 restrictions,” said Rep. Blaine Wilhour, who represents the Marion County portion of Centralia. “Businesses have had to reimagine their operational business models and their staffing needs based on these changes and challenges. I encourage everyone looking to get back to work or change careers to check out the hundreds of openings that exist with local employers.”

Up to 100 businesses will have representatives on hand to interview and hire on the spot. There will be resources available to job seekers for resume and job interview preparation as well as Kaskaskia Community College personnel on hand to discuss career and technical training opportunities. Additional local resources on hand to share information about real estate, transportation and childcare options for job seekers.

Local officials confirmed that the Greater Centralia Area Career Expo is set for August 20 – 21, 2021 to be located at the newly constructed Castle Ridge Conference Center (1750 Tee Lane, Centralia), and held during their annual Balloon Fest weekend.
