LOUISVILLE, IL… State Representative Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) is teaming up with his colleagues, State Representatives Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) and Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich), to provide a free senior fair to area seniors. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 17th from 9am-11am at the National Guard Armory in Effingham at 1206 W. Temple Ave.
“I have been working to bring this popular event back since the Covid restrictions were imposed five years ago,” said Rep. Wilhour. “We have a nice variety of vendors this year that provide services and programs available to the seniors in our area. I encourage you to come out and bring a friend.”

The fair is open to all area seniors to receive helpful guides, literature, and other resources from a variety of state, county, and local senior service agencies.
“Not only will we have information from state agencies like Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, there will also be information on activities and services available through the Effingham Library, and some screenings by health care organizations,” added Rep. Niemerg.
General Assembly members will be on hand to assist constituents with their state government concerns. Attendees are strongly encouraged to sign in for a chance to win a door prize. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
“Representatives Niemerg, Wilhour, and I are pleased to reintroduce this event that provides so many connections to our seniors,” said Rep. Halbrook. “We understand the difficulty seniors may have with accessing these resources independently, so we wanted to provide an opportunity for them to learn about the resources out there and speak with professionals all at one place.”
No RSVP or entrance fee is required. With any questions, please reach out to Rep. Wilhour at (618) 665-4109, Rep. Niemerg at (217) 813-6036, or Rep. Halbrook at (217) 342-0220.
