State Rep. Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) announced his Senior Fair will be Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The event will be held at the Salem community Activities Center located at 416 Oglesby Street in Salem.
“I am pleased to be able to offer this opportunity for the seniors in our community to learn about the many services and resources provided by state, county, and local senior services agencies,” said Rep. Wilhour. “My legislative staff will be on hand to provide information on state programs and discuss issues and concerns.”
To date, forty vendors have confirmed they will attend to provide information and health screenings. State of Illinois vendors will include the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department on Aging – Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP), and the Office of the Comptroller.
Local organizations and businesses that attendees may speak with who provide programs and services for seniors include the Bryan-Bennett Library, Centralia Manor, and Land of Lincoln Legal Aid organization. Some of the health screenings available include posture screening, blood pressure checks, hernia screening, sleep apnea screening, as well as screenings for lung and colon cancer.
