House Republicans Fed Up with Democrats’ Political Theater; Leave House Floor!

This week, the Illinois House once again became a stage for Democrat political theater as the majority party wasted valuable legislative time debating and passing four House Resolutions condemning President Donald Trump and his policies—policies that will make America stronger.

While Illinois families struggle under skyrocketing taxes, rising crime, and a failing economy, Democrats in Springfield refuse to take responsibility for the mess they’ve created. Instead, they resort to empty political stunts, ignoring the real issues facing our state.

State Representative Chris Miller addressed the media, calling out the majority party’s blatant attempt to distract from their own failures. Rather than working to fix Illinois’ broken finances, support law enforcement, or address the exodus of businesses and families leaving our state, Democrats would rather score cheap political points by attacking a president who is fighting to put America first.

Members of the Illinois House Republican Caucus stand firmly with the people of Illinois who demand real solutions—not partisan games. The decision to leave the floor was a direct response to the absurdity of these resolutions and the majority party’s refusal to focus on what truly matters.

Illinois deserves better. We need leaders who will fight for lower taxes, safer communities, and economic growth—not more political grandstanding from a supermajority that has led Illinois into crisis.
