Rep. Wilhour, IL Optometric Assn. Offer FREE Safety Sunglasses to the Public for April 8 Solar Eclipse

State Representative Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) is partnering with the Illinois Optometric Association to offer FREE safety sunglasses to residents of the 110th District in order to observe the total eclipse of the sun on April 8, 2024. One pair per person, while supplies last.

“I want to thank the Illinois Optometric Association for making these solar eclipse glasses available at no charge for the eye safety of Illinoisans,” commented Rep. Blaine Wilhour. “Please contact my district office if you would like to have a pair for yourself and your family.”

The Illinois Optometric Association (IOA) is providing these certified glasses that they say meet the ISO 12312-2 safety standards, ensuring safe viewing of the upcoming total eclipse in early April. The undamaged glasses are made in the USA and guaranteed for three years.

If you are unable to make it to the district office, you may also pick up safety glasses during the Traveling Office Hours on Wednesday, April 3 at the following locations:

Ramsey Village Hall – 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.

Evans Public Library (Vandalia) – 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Mulberry Grove Village Hall – 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
