Every year, more than 2,100 North Americans are killed or seriously injured because of unsafe behavior around tracks and trains. All of these incidents and deaths are preventable. Rail safety is a shared responsibility. By looking out for each other and working together, we can help keep our communities safe and prevent injuries and fatalities on or near railway property.
Every community needs to know they will not be put in harm’s way. All crossing and trespassing-related incidents are preventable. By working together, we can help save lives.
As Rail Safety Week celebrates its 20th anniversary, thank you to Operation Lifesaver to help raise public awareness of the dangers of trespassing on railway property and to promote public rail safety in communities throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
