Rep. Wilhour: REALTOR Grants Available to Marion County Tornado Victims

State Representative Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) announced that the Illinois REALTORS Association is offering up to a $500 grant for anyone affected by the recent tornado. Approval is subject to an executive order disaster proclamation, which is in effect for Marion County.

“I encourage everyone in Marion County impacted by this devastating disaster to apply for this assistance,” said Rep. Blaine Wilhour. “Thank you to the Illinois REALTORS for this opportunity to help the people in need from the recent tornado that came through Salem.”

Assistance is available to qualified applicants towards one of the following options:

1) Monthly mortgage expense for the primary residence that was damaged by the March/April 2023 tornado in Northern, Central, and Southern Illinois;

2) Rental cost of temporary shelter due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the disaster; or

3) Unreimbursed losses directly related to the disaster (e.g. Insurance Deductible, home-related not covered by insurance). Relief assistance is limited to a maximum of $500 per household. Deadline for application submission is July 1, 2023. Please note this assistance is for housing relief only; other expenses including vehicle purchase, rental, repair and or mileage are ineligible for reimbursement under this program.
