The storms that swept through our region recently caused tremendous damage to homes and businesses and took the lives of several people near the Indiana border.
What has struck me is the resilience of the people in our region and the generosity of so many who have given their time and their money to help their neighbors in need. We hear a lot about how divided our nation is but when it really counts, we come together and help each other.
We can and will rebuild our communities, but it will take a continued effort from all of us. Those who lost their homes, businesses and loved ones need our support and our prayers.
