State Representative Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) welcomed constituents from his district including the Effingham Area Right to Life, to the State Capitol on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
“This movement to protect and defend the unborn is critical in Illinois that is determined to be the most extreme and progressive on legalizing abortion with no parental notification, no limits, and forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions who do not agree with this procedure,” commented Rep. Wilhour, a father of three.
Tuesday morning began with a 10:00 a.m. Catholic Mass celebrated at the Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Campus and presided over by Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki. At 10:30 a.m. Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield conducted a special Matins service commemorating Joseph, Guardian of Jesus and an Orthodox Christian Prayer of the Hours was prayed at St. Anthony Orthodox Church.
The rally began at 12:00 noon at the Lincoln Statue with a march around the Capitol and then meetings with legislators at 1:00 p.m. From 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. was a Eucharistic Adoration at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
