Every year, a different National Forest is selected to provide a tree to appear on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building for the holiday season. The 2020 tree was chosen from U.S. Forest Service-Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre & Gunnison National Forests.

Today, Monday, November 16, the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will make its journey through southern Illinois on it’s way from Colorado to Washington, D.C. Our Illinois State Police Troopers will be part of the escort along I-64, down I-57 to I-24 into Kentucky.
